It’s six o’clock as only time can tell
Waking round in this maze of a place
Just one little joint and I’m off my face
I came out the first coffee shop
Sun and people ablaze, afire in my eyes
Had to go buy sunglasses, to shield from the blast
& Found a hidden existence, safe behind the glass
First was a little Thai stick, fruit juice too
Feeling a little strange now, after my cloud walk in the crowd
Found another coffee shop & I just been contemplating
As I’ve pondered, the feeling I’ve found
Minding your own business sitting around
The pleasure is to be found in “being”
Unconcerned as to those about, watching life’s scene’s act out
Moved on I did, now sitting chilling with the charris
More fruit juice on the go
Made conversation with the barmaid, asked of a good place to go
Funky
Happening
You know, where good vibes flow
Her face went blank
She explains of the restrictions on the noise
& the dead nightlife, the result to show
Turns out there aren’t no funky place in town to go
She mentioned the red light streets
Purely for the bars, the music & something to eat.
So as the spliff draws to an end, time to move on
You have to watch your feet, when you’re out on the street
Mad pizza delivery in alleys, bikes & trams buzzing all around
From every direction they’re trying to run you down
The only safe place I’ve found is pedestrian ground
Reggae music pulled me into a little bar
Off the main street, charris back on the beat
Reggae music, Bob’s got me feeling the vibe
Been sometime realizing where my path really lies
A few spliffs and once more I’m on my way
Afterwards the Columbian came out to play
Got a little cloudy from then
The words drifted, went away.
